PREPARING KHARKIV FOR HOSTING EURO-2012

The DCH investment group became the general investor of Kharkiv's preparations for Euro-2012, investing more than $300 million in the amenities of this championship.

Task

To cover in the media the preparatory, organizational and investment activities of DCH as an investor and supervisor of the city's preparations for Euro-2012.

What did we do?

A comprehensive two-phase campaign was developed. The first one is to comprehensively cover Kharkiv's preparations in Ukrainian and foreign mass media. It helped to get the status of the Host City of the championship instead of the status of a backup city. After that, the second phase began, which included measures to highlight construction projects and arranging the necessary infrastructure: the stadium, the airport, the training camp, the volunteer center, the first 5* hotel in the city to accommodate the UEFA regional headquarters. Within its limits, two types of PR activities were carried out:

Promotional support for the construction of key infrastructure facilities according to UEFA standards.
Organization, conduct and coverage of activities for the opening of key facilities of the city and sports infrastructure, including the Grand Opening ceremonies for the Metalist Stadium and Kharkiv International Airport.

Kharkiv was awarded the title of Reference City in terms of the pace of preparation for Euro-2012 in foreign media.

The media acknowledged the owner of DCH as the only investor in the history of the championship who was engaged in the preparation of the entire city infrastructure, not just the individual objects.

Thousands of publications in Ukrainian and foreign media.

Kharkiv became a discovery city for football fans and the whole world.
